Owan West Council Begins Emergency Palliative Works on Critical Roads<\/p>\n
Chairman Personally Supervises Intervention as Motorists Hail Move<\/p>\n
The Executive Chairman of Owan West Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Aikpokpo Enahoro, KSC, today commenced palliative works on some critical roads within the local government area that had become difficult or unsafe for motorists to use.<\/p>\n
The intervention follows the Chairman’s earlier declaration of an emergency on roads requiring urgent attention, particularly sections where deteriorating conditions had impaired movement and transportation.<\/p>\n
Hon. Chief Aikpokpo Enahoro was personally present at the project sites, supervising and monitoring the ongoing work to ensure that the intervention is properly executed.<\/p>\n
The palliative works commenced in Ovbiokhuanrin, Ora, and other identified locations. Activities underway include road rehabilitation, clearing of overgrown vegetation and hedges, widening of affected road sections, and improving accessibility for motorists and residents.<\/p>\n
Motorists and other road users at the sites expressed appreciation for the intervention, acknowledging the importance of addressing the road challenges. Their reactions, offered as personal observations, reflected relief that the Council had responded promptly.<\/p>\n
The intervention is intended to provide immediate relief while improving movement and accessibility across affected communities. It is expected to ease travel for residents, support farmers in moving produce to markets, aid businesses, and restore safer movement for commuters and other road users.<\/p>\n
