*AIKPOKPO ENAHORO CELEBRATES NIGERIA AT 66, CALLS FOR UNITY, PEACE AND NATIONAL RENEWAL*

THURSDAY, 1 OCTOBER 2026

On behalf of the Executive, Legislature, management, staff and the good people of Owan West Local Government, I, Hon. Chief Aikpokpo Enahoro, KSC, Executive Chairman, joyfully celebrate our great nation, Nigeria, on her 66th Independence Anniversary.

Happy Independence Day to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. October 1 remains a solemn reminder of our shared history, the sacrifices of our heroes past, and our *Renewed Hope* for a stronger, peaceful and prosperous nation. Our labour shall never be in vain.

As we mark this milestone, let us renew our commitment to peace, unity, patriotism and national development. Though religion, ethnicity and tribe may differ, we are bound by one love—our beloved Nigeria.

We must deliberately create opportunities and a *Better Future* for our young people, for they are the promise of tomorrow. In Owan West, we remain dedicated to service, inclusiveness, grassroots development and improving the lives of our people.

To Nigerians in the diaspora, Nigeria remains your home; your contributions to nation-building are invaluable.

Be assured: Nigeria will be great again. Our challenges are temporary, but our destiny is glorious. Let us unite, work together, and keep faith with the Nigeria of our dreams.

The Future Is Better!

God bless Owan West Local Government.
God bless Edo State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
